Muhlenberg Mentors is a school-based mentoring program that enables caring community members to build relationships with elementary and middle school students who need additional support. The mission of this program is to provide support, guidance, and encouragement to mentees and to be their advocates and positive role models. Anyone who loves children and has a heart to encourage and time to commit can be a mentor. The requirements are quite simple: completion of training, a clear background check provided by the Board of Education, and 30 minutes per week throughout the school year.
If you or someone you know is interested in this rewarding program, please make plans to attend a required training set for August 14th at the Board of Education. There are two times available, 9-10 AM or 4-5 PM. Please be sure to bring your license to complete the necessary paperwork. Any returning mentors from the 2023-2024 school year will NOT be required to attend this training. Returning mentors will need to contact the school they mentored at last year once school is in session.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Carla Embry at 270-377-5019. Help us spread the word so we can offer mentors to more students this coming school year!
Please note: a separate training will take place for any interested junior or senior at MCHS at a late date once school is in session.
