Katie Martin, author of Learner Centered Innovation and chief impact officer of Learner-Centered Collaborative met with our Learner-Centered Design Team on January 10 and 11. The Muhlenberg County Learner-Centered Design Team is composed of district leaders, principals, and teachers. On January 10, the team conducted school visits across the elementary, middle, and high schools in the district. The purpose of the visits was to spotlight the great things that are already taking place within our schools and how we can utilize our strengths to enhance our learning environment. On January 11, the team used the data gathered from surveys, discussions, and school visits to create the Muhlenberg County Profile of a Learner. A Shoutout to each team member for their hard work and dedication in this process. We look forward to sharing the Muhlenberg County Profile of a Learner soon. Below is information provided by Learner-Centered Collaborative:
"When we start with learners, we start from a place of possibility. With learners at the center, we define the desired outcomes, design meaningful learning experiences, and create the enabling conditions to bring our vision for learners to life. Our framework is designed to align with the world we live in and develop learners who will become engaged and productive citizens. Recognizing the complexity of change, driven by what's best for learners, and informed by research and practice, we work closely with schools, districts, and states to find their new way forward."
